One of Planning drawing for the cover Painting. A family painting including their newborn baby son,
the birds, cats and ceased-to-be dog, Piddles.
William Robinson paintings at University S.A. I should have taken a torch as the lighting was very bad.
The heroic landscapes of the hill, high country - spectacular.
Exhibition visits, first to John Glover, at the Art Gallery SA, wonderful to see all the early in-England
pictures, the luminous & picturesque type composition. The detail is never dull, each mark, each tree...
Then the Tasmanian paintings, last year I read The English Passenger by Mathew Kneale, so the sadness of
John Glover in the 'Last Murder' was the same, for the demise of the first Tasmanians.
Also went to see my friend Sarah Turnbull's new paintings. Some of her best. She is a great see-er
of the human spirit.
